About me

I'm Max - 29 years old, an artist, athlete and graphic designer originally from Hamburg, Germany.
I grew up in a creative household – my father was an artist – so making things has always been part of my life. I’ve long been interested in reshaping what already exists, finding beauty in the everyday and turning thoughts into something visible and shared. Painting and music have been central to that process.
I studied business administration and fine art to combine creative independence with structure. During lockdown, I returned intensively to painting – a turning
point that connected different parts of my life: art, music, movement and teaching.
Das Art Department grew out of the wish to pass on what creative work has given me. In an increasingly digital world, I believe deeply in the value of handmade, human-made work – creating something out of nothing as a way to slow down, focus and build confidence.
Working with children and young people matters greatly to me. I respect their intelligence and their unfiltered way of seeing the world. My role is not to shape them, but to create spaces where that way of seeing can remain intact and grow.
